Medium in size, our firm groups fifty attorneys who concentrate in four specialties:
- Our Taxation practice remains one of the firm’s principal strengths, meeting the constant challenges presented by ongoing change and serving a broad range of clients. For entrepreneurs, our lawyers provide expertise in business startups, including the implementation of financial vehicles including trusts, corporate transfers, and estate planning. For larger companies, we counsel Canadian and international tax matters pertaining to domestic and off-shore operations. Clients facing tax disputes can turn to our specialized counsel to represent them in litigation against and settlement with tax authorities.
- Our Business Law practice partners with owners and management of corporations and small business. We work in multidisciplinary teams to bring together lawyers with diverse expertise to analyze problems from every angle and provide practical, efficient solutions. We routinely advise in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, settlements, financing, joint ventures, and investment funds.
- Our Litigation team is pragmatic and centered on obtaining results while never losing sight of the relevant issues at hand. Our lawyers are experienced in a broad variety of litigious matters, including those related to shareholders, insurance, civil responsibility, medical malpractice and professional responsibility, intellectual property, class action claims, labor and employment, family law, environmental law, and general litigation. We have particular expertise working with the construction and aviation industries.
- Our Intellectual Property (IP) practice offers expertise in all aspects of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks and copyrights. We furnish our clients with innovative solutions that help maximize the exploitation of their IP in as many markets as possible. We also provide critical strategic and legal support for the acquisition or transfer of all IP assets.
