We are pleased to announce that Ally Law’s 2026 Americas Regional Conference will be held October 28–31 at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown. More than 50 delegates and guests from member firms in more than a dozen countries across North, South, and Central America, as well as the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and China, will gather at the hotel, which occupies the tallest building on the US West Coast and offers sweeping views of the city.
Hosted by Musick Peeler & Garrett LLP, Ally Law’s Southern California-based member firm, the conference’s substantive program begins on Friday, October 30, with remarks from Ally Law President Paola Sangiovanni (of Italy member firm Gitti and Partners) and introductions from Musick Peeler leaders Richard Galofaro and Mike Klein. Nigel Haddon of Haddon Consult then returns after his highly rated session at Ally Law’s 2026 Global Meeting to lead “The Next Chapter: AI, Efficiency and Pricing.” Working from questions submitted in advance, he will address how firms can communicate value when AI reduces lawyer effort, how AI affects profitability and traditional leverage models, and how to demonstrate competitive advantage in a changing market.
In the afternoon, Sangiovanni and Harvey Koning (of US member firm Varnum LLP, based in Michigan) will co-moderate “Lost in Translation: The Cross-Border Matter,” an interactive simulation in which mixed international teams work through evolving challenges in client communication, KYC and confidentiality, risk, negotiation, and invoicing, and consider when lawyers should adapt their approach and when local requirements must prevail.
Next, Tim Corcoran of Corcoran Consulting Group will present “From ‘Eat What You Kill’ to Building the Village.” Traditional compensation models tend to reward individual production and origination at the expense of collaboration. Corcoran will examine how firms can rethink lawyer remuneration to support shared clients, teamwork, recruitment and retention, and succession planning, rewarding individual contribution while giving lawyers reasons to build the firm together. The day concludes with “Practical AI: What’s Working, What Doesn’t and What We’ve Learned,” a rapid-fire member discussion built on candid peer learning. Led by Musick Peeler Partner Mike Klein, Ally firms will share brief reports on their real-world AI use cases, lessons learned, and current challenges, opening a broader conversation about adoption, training, governance, client data, workflow changes, and measuring impact.
Delegates and guests will also see a side of Los Angeles that most business travelers miss. Early arrivals can join a Wednesday round of golf at the Los Angeles Country Club’s North Course or get some court time at a local tennis facility, both followed by a wine tasting at Musick Peeler’s offices and dinner at Nick + Stef’s Steakhouse. On Thursday morning, attendees may take a private tour of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Wright’s first Los Angeles commission or enjoy an easy guided hike to the Hollywood Sign. That evening, the conference opens with a reception at Spire 73, the open-air rooftop bar atop the InterContinental, high above downtown.
On Friday, guests may join a curated tour of local designers and boutiques with a professional stylist, while the closing dinner that evening takes place at Gravitas, a private members’ club in the heart of Beverly Hills. On Saturday, attendees can choose between a guided kayaking excursion among the resident sea lions of Redondo Beach Harbor or a private tour of the Getty Villa’s collection of ancient Greek and Roman art, led by a museum-trained art historian, followed by lunch along the Pacific Coast Highway.
Said Sangiovanni, “Firms across the Americas are wrestling with the same questions at the same moment: how to put AI to work, how to price legal services when the effort behind them is changing, and how to reward lawyers for building the firm and not only their own practices. No firm answers those questions perfectly on its own. In Los Angeles, we’ll compare notes candidly and learn from one another’s experiments, successes, and stumbles. And although we wrap up on Halloween, we promise no one will be asked to dress as their compensation committee.”
The Los Angeles meeting follows Ally Law’s EMEA Regional Conference, held in Copenhagen in early October, and precedes the Asia Pacific Regional Conference, November 26–29 in Beijing. These regular meetings give members a distinct advantage over law firms outside the network, helping ensure that current insights and experiences are shared among the organization’s network of professionals.
