• Our Banking, Corporate, and Commercial Practice handles many types of banking and finance issues, including secured and unsecured lending and a wide range of corporate transactions from company corporate governance services to drafting and advising on share and asset sale agreements and joint venture agreements. We also advise on all aspects of Singaporean employment law, estate and trust matters for individuals, and in securing Institution of Public Character Status for charitable organizations. Clients of the practice include major local and foreign banks, finance companies, securities firms, commercial property owners, Internet and information technology companies, insurance and investment companies, and statutory boards. Our team serves as legal adviser to the Association of Banks in Singapore and the Finance Houses Association of Singapore.

• Our Civil and Commercial Litigation Practice represents insurance companies, statutory boards, publicly listed companies, private companies, commercial parties, and individuals. We advise on general commercial matters, property transaction disputes, insurance matters, employment issues, and family and domestic disputes. We also represent clients before regulatory proceedings and provide counsel on debt recovery and personal and corporate insolvency. We have extensive experience in litigation in Singaporean courts at all levels as well as in arbitration and mediation.

• The Criminal Advocacy Practice handles defense work involving statutory and regulatory offenses to more serious nonviolent crimes routinely prosecuted in Singapore. Headed by a former registrar of the Subordinate Courts who also served as a district judge, the team is skilled in representing to the Attorney General’s Chambers for the withdrawal or reduction of charges. The practice conducts criminal trials in the High Court and Subordinate Courts as well as trials at the Military Court Martial. We have acted in a wide range of criminal matters, including cases involving offenses under the Moneylender’s Act, various traffic offenses, corruption cases, and an array of offenses under the Penal Code.

• Our Property and Real Estate Practice negotiates complex real estate transactions for financial institutions, government linked companies, multinational corporations, and local businesses. We advise on the purchase, planning and development, construction, sale and leases of commercial, industrial, and residential property. Additionally, we are highly experienced in real estate financing, including restructuring arrangements and club financing of Urban Redevelopment Projects. We can advise on all aspects of landlord and tenant issues, both contentious and non contentious.
