Ally Law’s 2026 EMEA Regional Conference in Copenhagen: A RecapAlly Law held its 2026 EMEA Regional Conference October 1–4 at the Radisson Collection Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark. Hosted by Fram Law, Ally Law’s Swedish member firm, the meeting brought together more than 60 delegates and guests from member firms in 28 countries across Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.
The program took on the questions occupying law firm leaders across the region: how artificial intelligence is changing day-to-day practice, what it means for pricing and profitability, and how firms can stand out in a crowded market. Two outside advisors to the legal industry led key sessions:
- Niall Donnelly of NJHD Consulting presented “Marketing That Makes Your Firm Stand Out,” using one of Ally Law’s most successful member firms as a case study. He showed how a focus on fundamentals rather than trends builds market presence, and how firms can use Ally membership to earn credibility and generate cross-border referrals.
- Nigel Haddon of Haddon Consult returned after his session at Ally Law’s 2026 Global Meeting to lead “The Next Chapter: AI, Efficiency and Pricing.” He covered how firms can communicate value when AI reduces lawyer effort, and how AI is reshaping profitability, traditional leverage models, and the pricing of legal services.
Member firms also drew on their own experience. In “Practical AI: What We’ve Learned in the Process,” Ally firms compared real-world AI use cases, lessons learned, and ongoing challenges in training, governance, client data, and workflow. In “Lost in Translation: The Cross-Border Matter,” mixed international teams worked through an evolving case study covering client communication, KYC and confidentiality, risk, negotiation, and invoicing. Along the way they weighed when lawyers should adapt their approach and when local requirements must prevail.
Outside the conference room, attendees explored Copenhagen through “Copenhagen Unlocked,” a team-based game played through the city’s streets, and gathered for a closing dinner at Dyrehaven, the UNESCO-listed deer park north of the city. An optional weekend excursion crossed the Øresund to Sweden for a visit to the university town of Lund and an overnight stay at Trolleholm Castle.
Said Ally Law President Paola Sangiovanni (of Italy member firm Gitti and Partners), “Copenhagen reminded us why we still meet in person. Our firms shared their AI experiments — including the ones that worked and the ones that didn’t — and compared notes on pricing in a market that is changing quickly. And after a meeting that began in Denmark and ended in Sweden, I can confirm that our cross-border collaboration works on both sides of the Øresund.”
The conference immediately preceded the International Bar Association’s 2026 Annual Conference in Copenhagen, where Ally Law hosted a reception for member firms, clients, and colleagues on October 5. Ally Law’s 2026 regional calendar continues with the Americas Regional Conference, October 28–31 in Los Angeles, to be hosted by Musick Peeler & Garrett LLP, and the Asia Pacific Regional Conference, November 26–29 in Beijing, to be hosted by Chance Bridge Law Firm.
