Meet Jaroslava Nedbalcová from Slovakia

What is your primary area of practice, and what drew you to it?

My main field of practice is management and business management. I have always been attracted to working with people, managing and achieving common results. During my doctoral studies, I focused on the Learning Organization. I can now compare my knowledge with practice and work on myself.

Tell us about a recent memorable project, matter, or case that you’ve worked on. What was fun? What was challenging?

We are currently automating our processes. It is a big challenge that teaches me to plan activities better – to take into account not only myself, but also external conditions that cannot always be influenced. And at the same time managing the entire project from the point of view of the people involved – everyone is unique and requires a different way and approach to management.

Since the pandemic, what is one thing that has improved in your life?

During the main wave of the pandemic, I was still at home with two small children. The end of the pandemic has already caught up with me at work. Those were difficult times and it was not easy to work in the services. I learned a lot about people and their behavior. I also worked a lot on myself – empathy and communication, but also assertiveness.

And now, a wild-card question: What’s your favorite place to visit and why?

My favorite place to visit is Greece. Greece is a beautiful country. I have always been fascinated by Greek history. Since I was little, I liked to read about the Greek gods, mythology. I want to visit Athens, Pantheon, Acropolis, Delphi, Olympia.
