Ally Law’s 2025 Americas Regional Conference was held September 16–21 in San Jose, Costa Rica, hosted by our local member Oller Abogados. This annual event brought together more than 40 Ally Law delegates and guests from member firms across South America, Central America, and North America, as well as the UK and Europe.

The five-day event featured substantive sessions exploring artificial intelligence implementation and training, cross-border client collaboration strategies, creative innovation for mid-sized firms, and the evolving role of in-house counsel. In formal panels and informal discussions, speakers and guests shared best practices for challenging firm management issues and how corporate legal leaders respond to global and regional trends. Sessions included practical insights on cross-selling strategies from firms with clients who have used multiple member firms across borders and specialties.

In addition to the various sessions and roundtable discussions, delegates and guests enjoyed unique Costa Rican experiences, including a private tour of La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park, one of Costa Rica’s most popular ecological attractions featuring five spectacular waterfalls and the largest animal sanctuary in the country. The program also included a welcome reception at the exclusive Costa Rica Country Club in Escazú, dinner and dancing at Alta Fiori, and a weekend at Los Sueños Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast.

During the conference, attendees heard from Vanessa Gibson, Director of Corporate Development & Investment Climate at CINDE, who discussed why Costa Rica is capturing global attention as a dynamic hub for innovation, investment, and sustainable growth. The program also featured a candid client panel where corporate legal leaders shared firsthand experiences about what works in cross-border legal collaboration.

Paola Sangiovanni, President of Ally Law and a partner in Italy member firm Gitti and Partners, welcomed new Ally Law member-firm delegates and led discussions on maximizing network membership benefits. Said Sangiovanni, “Ally Law continues to expand, adding highly regarded, entrepreneurial firms across the western hemisphere. Our meeting in Costa Rica provided prospective, new, and current members an opportunity to strengthen relationships with their Ally Law colleagues while exploring one of Latin America’s most dynamic business environments.”

In addition our Annual General Meeting, Ally Law hosts three regional meetings annually, each of which give members a distinct advantage over law firms outside the network, helping ensure that current insights and experiences are shared among the organization’s network of professionals.
