When Ally Law member firm Blum & Grob in Zurich received and referred referrals for two distinct clients requiring Swiss legal services, the firm demonstrated both the network’s referral effectiveness and its capacity to coordinate complex multi-jurisdictional projects.
The first engagement began with a straightforward referral from Peter Visser of member firm DeMetz in the Netherlands. Hecny Group, a Hong Kong-based global logistics business competing with other cargo, distribution, warehousing, and e-commerce companies, needed to establish a European subsidiary structure. Hecny planned to create one entity within the European Union (Netherlands) and another in Switzerland for operations outside the EU.
Gian-Marchet Kasper at Blum & Grob handled the Swiss incorporation, establishing a subsidiary in Geneva. Responding quickly to the client’s evolving requirements throughout the process, the Swiss team successfully completed the incorporation and a subsequent director change. DeMetz provided parallel services in the Netherlands, with both firms working independently while serving the same strategic objective.
The second engagement showcased Ally Law’s coordination capabilities on a much larger scale. A Swiss company in the industry of air purification and humidification, a major international corporation headquartered in Switzerland with subsidiaries in 28 jurisdictions, required a comprehensive compliance review of their global structure. The project encompassed ESG compliance, anti-money laundering requirements, and general group compliance across their international operations.
Blum & Grob served as the central coordinator for this complex project, working with Ally Law member firms across France, Mexico, the Netherlands, Italy, Hungary, Germany, and the United States. Each firm provided jurisdiction-specific compliance analysis, while Blum & Grob collated the full suite of information into a unified report for the client. The project also included separate litigation support in Mexico and assistance with new joint ventures in the UK and Ukraine.
These engagements demonstrate Ally Law’s versatility, whether helping clients establish local and regional subsidiaries or providing sophisticated coordination of global compliance reviews. The network’s structure allows member firms to serve as both recipients and coordinators of multi-jurisdictional work, providing clients with seamless access to specialized expertise worldwide.
