New Ban-The-Box Laws Take Effect in June

Currently, nine states, the District of Columbia, and 15 local jurisdictions have adopted ban-the-box laws that generally prohibit private employers from initially inquiring into an applicant’s criminal history. Effective June 2018, Kansas City, Missouri, and Spokane, Washington, will become the latest cities to have ban-the-box laws for private employers. Read more.
