Countries around the globe are redoubling their efforts to examine the role of digital marketplaces and their effects on local economies. These assessments are being made from a variety of perspectives, including with respect to antitrust, data privacy, consumer protection and other laws. There is also increasing focus on the intersection of national regulations and recently implemented multinational regulatory schemes, including the EU’s Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act.
